The Process of Elimination: Ehlers Danlos, 65 or Practice?

I can’t do it, or in the words of Tony Horton, I currently struggle with. It’s a basic backbend challenge. I’ve done 4 out of the 5 moves in the past with ease, but, this is now and I fumble through each move. WHY? Do I need practice? I have not done this sequence before. Is it age? During the French open and the commentators are commented on the strength and flexibility of Gaël Monfils, as remarkable for someone at the age of 37. At my age, that sounds young and it’s easy to want to dismiss the age factor. Yet one look at my hands and face, I can see the visible signs of aging. It goes to reason that my internals have aged as well. So it may be unreasonable to do the challenge? Or, is it my Ehlers Danlos. A contestant on So You Think You Can Dance is confined to a wheel chair due to the progression of her Ehlers Danlos. Could that be my issue, the progression of Ehlers Danlos?

So, here it is. What I aspired to do and what I really did. In the next 7 weeks, I’ll be practicing. Many people will ask why and I’m not falling into that trap. Twenty Five years ago, I did the landmark forum. There was an exercise “chocolate or vanilla”, choose. The point was you choose, you don’t have to give a reason, you choose. So, I choose to challenge myself for 7 weeks to see if I can improve this sequence, because I want to. This week, notice if you get caught trying to rationalize your choices. Can you leave it and just say I chose, or do you find yourself in defense of your point of view?
