Another Kick to the Head: Do Not Fear Failure, Be Terrified of Regret…

I did a chin stand and got my feet to my head; something I have not tried in a couple of years. Why? I don’t like to fail and I was afraid I could not longer manage this, so I didn’t try at all. I had excuses, the great shutdown of 2020 and 2021; the closure of yoga studios, lack of inspiration, but, no good reason. I used the excuses to round down on why I could no longer do this, rather than round up on the possibility that I could. This week, I heard Deshauna Barber’s commencement address. She said, “I ask you when you leave here today, don’t fear failure, but, be terrified of regret. Giving up is the birth of regret.” That triggered something in me. I’d given up. I pulled out the camera, put on my boots and voila. This week, consider, do you fear failure or are you terrified of regret?

This was the photo used for my first blog post in July 2014. I later progressed to get my feet to my head. Here’s to year 10 of weekly blogging and a kick in the head.
