You have the right to remain silent; use it.

I got nothing for my blog post this week. I drafted three different topics and nothing is fully thought out. With that, I realized, there are times to remain silent. We’ve all experienced at work or in everyday life when someone is talking and you realize, they have no idea what they are talking about.  Worse still, you realize, the someone talking knows they have no idea what they’re talking about and yet, they keep going rather than say, excuse, I need a moment to think this through.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

Abraham Lincoln

Silence, that underrated, understated  opportunity to be quiet and get your thoughts together and figure something out. Remember, in most cases, silence is a viable option. Everything does not require an immediate repose or action. It’s ok to be still, to assess and plan. Until next week,  shhh.
