March Madness: Let the Games Begin

It’s today in a few hours, the selection committee announces the NCAA tournament bracket for both the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball teams. It’s my season for the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat; college basketball at its finest. This is the time of year, the ides of March, where things pivot, daylight savings time, lent, Ramadan, spring break, all the things. It’s also time for my yearly sanity check.

I have a few quirky things, but they work for me. My refrigerator. Its organization is loosely based on the food pyramid. I can look at a glance and determine what I need to buy. This almost empty refrigerator needs fruits, vegetables and grains and after I finished this post and before the NCAA Selection Sunday results, it’s off to the grocery store. I know this is not practical for most, maybe even no one else but me. But hey, It’s just me. There is a full grocery store downstairs. I cook everyday, there is no Uber eats action here. Over the years, I suppose we develop our own personal madness. This week, fear not the Ides of March, consider your own form of madness.

Selection Sunday Updates:

The agony of defeat, 4 schools (West Virginia, Indiana, Ohio State and Boise State) did not make it to the big dance. Ugh, what a wait, what a way to go out as you wait for your team to be called and it does’t happen.

My alma mater, Tennessee. Both Men’s and Women’s Teams are in.

…and AI Subtitles…it’s Vols…for volunteers; not balls; It’s Tennessee, the Vols.

Oranged up and ready to go!!!
