Do you see what you don’t know or do you rationalized. I thought I noticed everything. I’m new to Boston, I walk everywhere, so of course I see a lot? Nope, epic fail. This art installation has been here more than 3 months. I pass this at least once a week and never saw it. I watched people walking out of the alley and rationalized, they must have thought it was a through street? I never looked up until this week while on a walking tour of downtown art installations. But wait, there is more.
How do you miss a unicorn in a box? I did. I’ve seen it, thought is was an incomplete billboard and embarrassing I admit, missed the unicorn. Maybe I can excuse the upside down man who blended into the background? But still, the clowns in the alley? I limited myself to my earlier experience rather than engage curiosity.

Monday, April 8, 2024, is a solar eclipse visible in the US. Eclipse Mania! The next one will be in 2044. There are maps of totality, time tables, recommendations on the best view, weather forecasts, tour groups, special glasses and more. This will be kind of hard to miss in areas with more than 90% coverage. I can be prepared to view the obvious, what everyone is talking about, but what about the everyday magic. I missed the unicorn! Do we actually miss what is right n front of us? This week, consider seeing the obvious and engaging curiosity.
