Because she is the most decorated gymnast in World Championship history. Because she made history by being the first woman to land a triple double. Because she sought therapy after suffering abuse from Dr Larry Nasser. Because she spoke with eloquence of USA gymnastic “….they couldn’t do one damn job. You had one job. You literally had one job and you couldn’t protect us.”  Finally, can we pause a moment to reflect the paradoxical nature of Smone’s achievements.  The international gymnastics federation refused to award a higher level of difficulty for her moves. The committee rationalized their decision as a fear others would be incentivized to try the moves and injure themselves.  Simone took to twitter and responded, “bull shit.”  Here’s to the incredible Simone Biles.
