Prince, Trajectories and Balancing on Unstable Surfaces

I don’t have a particular Prince story, I have a Prince history. Prince released his first album when I was sophomore in college. We were both 19. Prince wrote, produced, did all the vocals and played all the instruments on that album whilst I bemoaned an early morning, 7:50 thermodynamics class. In engineering terms, my life and Prince’s were on two totally different trajectories. Prince’s trajectory ended with his death on Thursday, April 21st, but his legacy remains. As for me, I’m still here, balancing on unstable surfaces and  practicing , instead of fighting what isn’t, to embrace what is. And in the words of Prince,

‘cause life is just a party and parties aren’t meant to last.

 Prince Rogers Nelson (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016)
