Whew, they are done. The Olympics are over, I can take the sign off my front door that says, “I’m OK, just watching the Olympics.” These past two weeks were crazy. While I rearranged my entire schedule, started at 5:30 am to see events live, I found my enthusiasm was not shared. The events with the best of the best inspired me to try a few things like down dog splits on elbows. Maybe I got a little delusional, I thought it may be possible to turn this into an arm balance. It’s nice to get that unexpected inspiration and possibility. Yes, a face plant did follow, but my subsequent arm position put the camera remote control out of range, so there is no photo.

What I did miss was community. I watched alone and didn’t really have anyone to share my excitement and enthusiasm. I have a deep appreciation of my friends who tolerated my texting, but it’s not the same. It’s different from attending theater events, lectures and concerts alone. Those things put you in a community that shares the interest.
My lessons learned, the rose, the bud and the thorns? The rose, I loved the events, the excitements, the thrills and the joy. The bud, the inspiration. Athletes in their late 20’s and 30’s competing at the top of their game. Inspiration for variations on yoga poses. The thorns, very surprising, where is the community. Ah ha, this is why sports bars exist 🙂 This week, consider, your rose, your buds and your thorns. Any adjustments needed?
Matthew watched the Olympics and occasionally called me in to share a few events 😁
God’s blessings, Helen
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His ONLY Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have EVERLASTING life. 1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Is Jesus the center of your life? All other relationships will be insufficient otherwise.
